Happy Monday, Blue Eagle!

This Saturday, August 19, at 9 AM, we will be hosting a fundraiser supporting the local charity, Stuff the Sleigh. This is the perfect opportunity to have fun with other members, friends, family, and neighbors. Read our blog post to learn more and get registered:

Stuff the Sleigh

Why do we host an annual event supporting a local charity?

Life is bigger than we are. Giving helps us remember that.

I know your life is hard. You have people (kids, parents, and other adults in our lives) who depend on you. You have goals you want to achieve in life, which may be related to your work, family, or your personal life. It can be easy for us to get so focused on the obstacles we face as we work toward our success that we lose sight of the obstacles other families face.

Who is Stuff the Sleigh?

Stuff the Sleigh supports families who have kids battling cancer. Imagine your kid or a neighbor's kid being diagnosed with cancer. Think of everything you lose.

  • Lots of money because even with insurance, the family must pay for parking, eating out, tolls, gas, etc., to be near the hospital.

  • Time. The family spends so much time at the hospital or doctor visits that there isn't a lot of time left for the other kids in the family to do activities or go on vacations.

  • Energy. Battling cancer is emotionally draining, even when the battle is being won. That doesn't leave a lot of energy to connect between parents or with the other kids.

Stuff the Sleigh supports the whole family, including the kids who don't have cancer but who are supporting their siblings and parents in ways they may not yet comprehend. The service Stuff the Sleigh provides is unknown by most but truly appreciated by those who receive it.

How Can You Help?

Be a person who gives. The secret to happiness? Recognizing we have been blessed with so much that we have plenty to share with others.
