Monday Motivation - Intentionality and Purpose in Group Fitness Classes
Happy Monday!
A new week brings new opportunities, and today I want to remind you how powerful it is to set your intentions early.
My Daughter:
Let me share a story about my 8-year-old daughter, Ariana. Ariana struggles with ADHD, which makes it difficult for her to concentrate and switch her mind between tasks. If we don’t plan ahead, the mornings can be chaotic for her as she gets ready for school, trying to juggle what to wear and what snacks to pack. But every Sunday, she works with either Celesta or me to pick out her clothes and snacks for the week. This simple task of preparing ahead of time helps her approach each day with a sense of calm and confidence. She’s able to start her mornings without the usual frustration and stress.
I’ve learned from Ariana that setting yourself up for success in advance makes all the difference. This same principle can be applied to fitness, nutrition, and mindset. If you take just a few minutes each Sunday (or even Monday morning) to set your goals for the week, your days will become smoother and less stressful.
Here’s how to achieve results:
Fitness Goal: Set a fitness target you know you can achieve, such as attending three classes a week. Schedule those classes now!
Nutrition Goal: Plan ahead to ensure your body is fuelled with the right foods. This could involve prepping healthy meals or focusing on hydration.
Mindset Shift: Consider what mindset you want to adopt for the week. Perhaps it’s being more patient with yourself or practicing gratitude every day.
As a bonus, here are Five Actions You Can Take When You Want to Quit.
Achieving Results Starts with Planning:
The key is setting clear, intentional goals that you can focus on throughout the week. By planning ahead, you reduce stress and set yourself up for success—just like Ariana does by preparing her clothes and snacks.
Let’s make this week one where you not only move towards your goals but enjoy the journey!
Take a few moments today to write down your intentions for the week. You’ll be amazed at how much more focused and accomplished you’ll feel.
Here’s to a week of success, balance, and progress!
In health,
Bryan
